Frequently asked questions
Who is behind PlotDossier?
PlotDossier is a brand of Ömer Kaşıkcı Şahıs Şirketi, a sole proprietorship in Çeşme, Türkiye. Ömer Kaşıkcı is a licensed surveying engineer (Harita Mühendisi, HKMO) and SPK-licensed valuation expert.
Which deadlines apply?
According to the amended EUDR, large and medium-sized operators and traders apply the rules from 30 December 2026; micro and small operators from 30 June 2027 (for wood products already covered by the EU Timber Regulation, also from 30 December 2026). Always check the current text on EUR-Lex.
Is this an EUDR certificate?
No. The EUDR does not provide for certificates. You, as the operator or trader, carry out due diligence and submit the DDS. Our report is evidence you can attach to your due diligence file.
Points or polygons – what do I need?
Plots up to 4 ha may be declared as a single point (except cattle). Larger plots need a polygon. If a supplier sends a point for a bigger plot, we flag it and can draw the polygon for you (done-for-you package).
What does “TRACES-ready” mean?
The GeoJSON follows the EU Information System rules: WGS84, longitude/latitude order, 6 decimals, closed polygons, no holes or crossing lines, Area as a number for points, valid ISO2 country codes, under 25 MB. Plots that fail are listed separately with the reason.
Türkiye is a low-risk country – do I still need this?
Yes, partly. For products from low-risk countries a simplified due diligence applies: no risk assessment, but you still need the geolocation of all plots and information on compliance. Our Türkiye wood package covers the geolocation file.
Our coffee grows under shade trees. Will it be flagged?
Shade coffee often looks like forest on satellite maps. Such plots are usually marked REVIEW. The engineer then compares the 2020 and current images and notes the reason, so you get an explanation instead of a false alarm.
What happens if a plot is HIGH?
HIGH means forest in 2020 and a clear loss signal afterwards. You should not place goods from that plot on the market until you have checked it with your supplier (dates, permits, photos). We describe what we see; the decision stays with you.
Do you need access to our TRACES account?
No. You upload the GeoJSON with your own account. We never ask for passwords or EORI credentials.
How do you handle farmers' personal data?
We only process what is needed (plot name, coordinates, optionally the producer name), under the GDPR. A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) is available on request. See our privacy notice.
Which satellite data do you use?
Only open datasets: Copernicus Sentinel-2, JRC Global Forest Cover 2020, Hansen Global Forest Change and ESA WorldCover. We do not use Google, Bing, Esri or Mapbox imagery. Sources are named in every report.
How fast is delivery?
Two working days after complete data for batches up to 50 plots. Larger batches: as agreed in the quote.
Is the report legal advice?
No. PlotDossier is a technical screening service. It does not replace legal advice, and the operator stays responsible for the due diligence and the DDS.
